How to add a survey to Zendesk Macro

There are two ways how you can use Nicereply surveys in Zendesk Macro:

Let's dive in on how you can set them both.


For both scenarios, you start in your account, and look for "Setting" on the left sidebar.

Then click on "Survey list" which will show you all your surveys.

Then lookout for the survey you'd like to use, and click "Settings & Appearance".

Please notice, that you need to use the in-signature survey in Zendesk Macro.

Proceed to "Email template".

Scroll down to "1. Copy survey code", and now here comes a little tricky part as it differs whether you'd like to use the survey in your e-mail or chatbot/ live chat.

In an e-mail survey

Click on the "Preview" and copy the content as highlighted in the picture.

In another tab, open your Zendesk account, and click on the gear icon on the left side.

Then go to "Admin Center"

In the search bar type "Macros" and click on the last find.

To create a new macro, click on the button "Add macro".

Fill in at least the first, required field and name the macro.

To proceed, click on "Add action" and choose "Comment/description".

In the box, paste the survey you copied from your Nicereply account earlier.

You might end up with a scale looking like this, but we're going to edit, so it looks how it's supposed to.

Copy the smiley face and paste it below your signature. Do the same with all of the smiley faces to stick them back together like below.

Eventually, you'll end up with the proper looking survey.


Then hit the blue "Create" button on the right side.


Go to your home page and choose the ticket you'd like to reply to.

Type in your response and then click on the "Apply macro" at the bottom of your screen.

Click on the name of the survey you'd like to insert.

And there you have it!

In messaging

Click on the "Survey type" and chose and "URL link" and then "Preview".

Copy only the part highlighted in the picture below.

In another tab, open your Zendesk account, and click on the gear icon on the left side.

Then go to "Admin Center".

In the search bar type "Macros" and click on the last find.

Fill in at least the first, required field and name the macro.

To proceed, click on "Add action" and choose "Comment/description".

In the box, type whatever you like and insert as an hyperlink the code you copied from your Nicereply account earlier.

Then hit the blue "Create" button on the right side.


Go page to your home page and choose the ticket you'd like to reply to.

Type in your response and then click on the "Apply macro" at the bottom of your screen.

Click on the name of the response you'd like to insert.

And you're all set!
